There is no difference! They are used interchangeably because the term “birth chart’ is more commonly used in the general public. “Natal chart” is the terminology used in the astrology world.

Their common meaning? It is the astrological chart of the sky the exact moment you were born, hence “birth chart” or “natal chart”.

No, however, the exact time gives us your exact rising sign degree - and this sets up your entire chart. For example, 1 minute = 4 degrees in the chart. If you have a time that is 30 minutes later to your exact birth time, that is a 7.5 degree difference, which can easily alter your rising sign to a completely different sign AND place each house ruler as a different ruler.

It does make a big difference in pin-point accurate information - however - I use a lot of channelling in my readings and it is through the channelling that soul specific information comes through. So we usually get the correct information anyway, but you do miss out on knowing the specific areas (houses in a natal chart) of your life that things are playing out.

There are a few ways:
1. Call the hospital you were born in and ask them. Every hospital has its own protocols with giving out this information. Some hospitals require the mother to sign a form to release the information. Other hospitals will give you your birth time over the phone. (For example, I rang the hospital I was born in and explained I needed my exact time of birth for my astrology birth chart - they put me through to medical records and I was given it easily over the phone).
2. Ask family or those who were there. It is not always the most accurate answer, but you may get some answers here.
3. Some countries put it on the birth certificate.
4. Some people who are practiced in muscle testing/kinesiology have tested this way.
